Tata Sky, one of the biggest DTH operators in India has announced the revision of the Electronic Programming Guide [EPG] numbers will come into effect on 2nd September 2020. The Direct-to-Home service provider emphasized that the revisions in the EPG numbers are most useful in the English entertainment genre alongside a Hindi news channel i.e., Aaj Tak Tez. As per the latest report, the modifications in the EPG numbers will be implemented from 2nd September at 12 AM. Besides this, a total of 11 channels will undergo the revision.
The revision of EPG numbers on the Tata Sky platform was previously announced to implement in October 2019. However, due to some issues, the company postponed the EPG revisions to September 2020. The officials of Tata Sky have shared an update regarding the same on their company website. As per the latest update, the EPG number revisions would show some impact on 11 channels. It also includes Zee Cafe, Star World, and Disney International HD.
Some other popular channels such as Star World, Star World HD, and Star World Premiere HD will be revised from its previous EPG numbers of 206. 204 and 208 to the new EPG numbers i.e., 2023, 202, and 206. The biggest DTH service provider also announced that Zee Cafe and Zee HD will undergo a revision from its previous EPG numbers of 220 and 218 to the latest EPG numbers such as 211 and 210.
As per the latest update, further modifications will be done to the old EPG numbers of Colors Infinity and Colors Infinity HD. The old numbers 226 and 224 will be revised to the new numbers 215 and 214. Apart from the aforesaid channels, Tata Sky also stated that there will be a revision for the Disney International HD channel. The channel number has been modified from the previous EPG number 232 to the latest number 221.
Another channel that will undergo revision is Aaj Tak Tez. It will be modified from 590 to 525. The DTH operator has decided to make copious modifications to its platform in recent times. It includes changes to the custom-curated packs and also launches new channels to its platform. At the beginning of August 2020, Tata Sky has announced to introduce VOOT Select and VOOT Kids to its DTH platform. The binge service offered by Tata Sky is available at a specific price to the customers. The company has brought certain modifications to the price of the binge service.
Earlier, it was available at Rs. 249 per month. After increasing the price, the binge service can be accessed with Rs. 299 per month. Meanwhile, Tata Sky has launched a new broadband plan that offers internet connectivity at a speed of 300 Mbps at an affordable price range.
