Xiaomi, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturing conglomerate has geared up to launch it’s new phone Redmi 9A in India on 2nd September 2020. The company has made this announcement on Friday through its social media channels. The upcoming Redmi 9A will be the third variant in the Redmi 9 series available in the country as of now. Recently, the company has launched Redmi 9 and Redmi 9 Prime in the Indian market.
The firm hasn’t disclosed the complete details of Redmi 9A till now. However, this smartphone has already made its debut in Malaysia at the end of June 2020 along with Redmi 9C. As per the reports, the Redmi 9A smartphone will be the subsequent variant to the Redmi 8A that was previously launched in India in September 2019.
The company announced that the Redmi 9A phone will be launched through a virtual event on 2nd September at 12 PM. This information was shared by the company through its official Twitter account. On the official website of the firm, mi.com, we can find a dedicated microsite created specifically for this phone. As per the site information, the Redmi 9A phone will launch on 2nd September and will go on its first sale on 4th September 2020.
Without displaying any of the images of the upcoming smartphone, the microsite simply displayed some of the significant highlights of the Redmi 9A phone. As per the earlier reports, Redmi 9A could be rebranded in India with some other name i.e., Redmi 9i. But now, it seems that the company has decided to place this phone for sale with its previous branding.
Redmi 9A – Key Specifications & Features
The upcoming Redmi 9A smartphone is all set to launch in the first week of September. On the microsite, there are some noteworthy specifications of this device. The Redmi 9A sports a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 720×1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
The smartphone comes powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Indian variant could have 4GB RAM as the standard. The Redmi 9A runs on the latest version of the Android operating system i.e., MIUI 11 based Android 10. This smartphone provides dual-SIM [Nano] facility.
On the camera front, the Redmi 9A comes equipped with a 13-MP rear camera with an f/2.2 lens. On the flip side, the device sports a 5-MP front camera that enables us to capture beautiful selfies. Speaking about the battery capacity, the phone provides a 5000 mAh battery that provides 10W fast charging abilities.
This device also sports a micro-USB port. Redmi 9A offers an internal memory of about 32 GB. It is hinted that the Indian model of this device could provide internal storage of about 128 GB.
Redmi 9A Price & Availability
Speaking about the price, the company hasn’t disclosed the price of Redmi 9A in India. However, it could comply with the price of this device announced in Malaysia. The 2GB and 32GB storage model of Redmi 9A carries a price of MYR 359 in Malaysia [approximately Rs. 6400].
If the company rebrands this smartphone then, it could launch in the Indian market with different variants. It is expected that the Redmi 9A smartphone could be launched in India in two storage variants i.e., 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. It is also expected that the phone would be available in 3 color variants i.e., Sea Blue, Midnight Black, and Nature Green.
