Flipkart has launched a new media streaming box namely Nokia Media Streamer. It’s a device slightly similar to the existing streaming devices of other brands such as Amazon Fire TV Stick, Mi TV Stick, and others. However, Nokia Media Streamer isn’t a stick but a box that sports rounded edges. 

The streamer comes equipped with a remote control that aids in controlling the device. On the appearance front, the Nokia Media Streamer seems more like the Mi Box 4K and Airtel Xstream box. The giant e-commerce firm has launched this Android TV streaming box in partnership with the telecom behemoth, Nokia. One can easily connect this device with their TV via the HDMI port and Wi-Fi internet connectivity to access desired streaming content. The newly launched Nokia Media Streamer streams high-quality content at a full HD resolution of about 1920×1080 pixels. On the storage front, this streaming device offers 1GB of RAM alongside 8GB of internal storage. This device comes powered by an indefinite Quad-core Processor teamed with a Mali 450 GPU. The Android TV-based Nokia Media Streamer runs the Android 9 Pie operating system. 

This device features an integrated Chromecast and is compatible with Dolby Audio. The customers can easily acquire access to the Google Play Store app store. As a result, it enables the students to download and access a plethora of Android apps. It also allows the customers to access various OTT platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and more.

Speaking about the cost of Nokia Media Streamer, it is available at Rs 3,499. As per the latest reports, this streaming device will be launched starting 28th August 2020. This device will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart in India. Comparatively, Mi TV Stick is highly inexpensive at Rs. 2799 while Mi Box 4K that supports Ultra-HD and HDR quality is available at Rs. 3499. The Nokia Media Streamer and Mi Box 4K are available at the same cost. On the other hand, Amazon Fire TV Stick is slightly costly available at Rs. 3999 compared to the Android TV-based Nokia Media Streamer box. 

Considering the features of Mi Box 4K and Nokia Media Streamer, this device doesn’t support 4K resolution. The interesting element is that the non-Smart TV users can also access the streaming content through the Nokia Media Streamer Android TV box. Meanwhile, Flipkart has officially announced its partnership with Nokia at the end of last year. Further, it launched Nokia Smart TVs in India jointly. 

After acquiring the licensing deal, Flipkart can manufacture and sell smart TVs and other TV products with the name of the Nokia brand in India. Since last year, post acquiring the licensing deal, the e-commerce conglomerate has been launching Smart Televisions under the brand. Recently, the company has launched a 43-inch 4K TV available at Rs. 31999 in India.
