Netflix to compete Amazon Prime Video

Netflix has made this option available to the users in India and other countries as well. It is quite simple to switch to the user interface in their preferred languages. Intending to rival its major competitor Amazon Prime Video, Netflix had recently introduced the Hindi user interface. Amazon Prime Video had launched the Hindi user interface almost 2 years back. Intending to compete it’s adversary, the global streaming behemoth Netflix has made this move.

Moreover, Netflix has been striving hard to make its mark in the Indian streaming market by investing massively in Indian films and series. Recently, it has streamed various hit films like Sacred Games, Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai, Bulbbul, Mighty Little Bheem, and more on Netflix. It has been trying to appeal the Indian users by providing interesting Indian content. To expand it’s services to larger communities in India, the company has now eliminated the language impediment through this new user interface in the Hindi language.

Amazon Prime Video had launched the Hindi user interface long back in 2018. On the other hand, JioTV had launched it in 2019. Truly, most people in India access popular streaming apps like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, JioTV, and others rather than Netflix. As a result, Netflix endures falling behind the aforesaid streaming platforms especially in attracting the Indian market.

On the other hand, Hotstar, the Indian OTT streaming service hasn’t yet launched a Hindi user interface to its subscribers. Still, it has gained utmost popularity in the Indian market. In India, Hotstar has acquired approximately 1/3rd of the market share in the country. JioTV comes next in terms of the market share in India. Monika Shergill, VP-Content, Netflix India said, ‘We believe the new user interface will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit members who prefer Hindi.’

Netflix is all set to release a series of stories on its OTT platform that include ‘A Suitable Boy, Mismatched, and more.
